Baburam Marasini

Senior Public Health Administrator and Coordinator of the Health Sector Reform Section under the PPIC Division, Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal

Since 2004, Dr. Marasini’s role has been to coordinate health sector reform activities, monitor health related Millennium Development Goals implementation and donor coordination. Dr. Marasini has a long career in the public health sector in Nepal. He has served as a senior medical officer, and district health officer at various hospitals and districts. He was also the National Programme Coordinator for the Safe Motherhood Programme at the Department of Health Services and the Reproductive Health Training Coordinator for the National Health Training Centre under the Ministry of Health and Population. He has held offices in a number of health-related associations and councils in Nepal. Dr. Marasini is the MLI point person at the MoHP working on establishing a modern Knowledge Management System to strengthen the ministry's leadership capacity and effectiveness. Dr. Marasini holds a medical degree and a Masters degree in Public Health from Mahidol University in Thailand. He has authored several public health papers and presented at numerous workshops and seminars.
