Abdo Yazbeck is a health economist and joined World Bank Institute after working on health projects and health sector policy research in Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Mr. Yazbeck also served as a Coordinator of the Health and Poverty Thematic Group of the Human Development Network working on improving the poverty focus of World Bank financed projects and on assisting country clients in the development of Poverty Reduction Strategy papers and programs (PRSP). Prior to joining the Bank, he lectured in Economics for five years at Texas A&M University and Rice University. Mr. Yazbeck has more than fourteen years of experience in Health Economics and Development Economics and has worked on 18 countries in the Former Soviet Union, the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. At World Bank Institute, Mr. Yazbeck manages the program in East and South Asia, is a lecturer for face to face and distance learning courses, and instructor for web-based courses.
